Indoor LED Displays at Roma Termini Station

Macropix has created an installation at Rome Termini Station consisting of four vertical indoor LED walls. It is a high-definition solution designed to ensure maximum visibility and strong communicative impact in one of the capital's busiest passenger hubs.

Installation details

Macropix delivered an installation at Roma Termini Station consisting of four vertical indoor LED displays, integrated into one of the station’s busiest passenger areas.

Each display measures 844 × 2,500 mm and features a 1.5 mm pixel pitch, a resolution of 540 × 1,600 pixels and brightness of 1,000 nits. The vertical format and fine pixel pitch provide excellent image definition, making the displays particularly effective for advertising and communication content viewed at relatively short distances.

Technology: Indoor LED SMD / GOB
Pixel pitch: 1.5 mm
Dimensions: 844 × 2,500 mm × 4 displays
Resolution: 540 × 1,600 pixels × 4
Brightness: 1,000 nits
Sector: Transportation / Digital Advertising
Location: Roma Termini Station

Benefits of the installation

Roma Termini is one of the capital’s main transport hubs, with a continuous flow of commuters, travellers and visitors. In such an environment, communication needs to be immediate, highly visible and capable of attracting attention within just a few seconds.

The four vertical LED displays turn existing architectural surfaces into high-impact digital communication points, positioned along the natural passenger routes through the station.

The 1.5 mm pixel pitch is especially valuable in this environment. The small distance between pixels allows text, graphics, logos and video content to remain sharp even when passengers are standing relatively close to the displays.

Brightness of 1,000 nits also ensures strong visibility in brightly illuminated indoor areas, while the vertical format is particularly effective for advertising campaigns, branding and digital content designed to engage passengers on the move.

For the client, the installation provides:

  • excellent visibility in high-traffic areas;
  • dynamic and easily updatable content;
  • high image quality at close viewing distances;
  • greater flexibility than traditional static advertising;
  • effective integration into the station architecture.

Product used

A location such as Roma Termini requires LED technology capable of combining fine image definition, durability and consistent visual performance.

The 1.5 mm pixel pitch delivers a high level of detail, making the screens suitable for indoor environments where viewers can approach the display closely.

The Imaginis-JC brochure also highlights design principles that are particularly relevant to this type of installation, including high reliability, efficient heat dissipation and improved colour stability.

The range also focuses on visual comfort, using optical technologies designed to distribute light more evenly and reduce unwanted scattered-light effects.

For the end user, this translates into:

  • sharp and uniform images;
  • excellent content readability;
  • a display surface suitable for close-range viewing;
  • improved durability for intensive use in high-footfall environments.
