Digital poster for movie theater Riccione

Macropix created a digital signage system for the Cinepalace Multiplex cinema in Riccione featuring vertical LED screens measuring 1 x 1.5 meters, with a 4mm pixel pitch, 240 x 360 pixel resolution, and 4000-nit brightness. The solution was designed to showcase movie posters, promotional content, and cinema information through dynamic, bright, and easily updatable messaging.

Installation details

For the Cinepalace Multiplex Cinema in Riccione, Macropix developed a digital communication system based on LED displays designed to promote movie programming and entertainment content.

The installation features 4 mm pixel pitch LED screens, each measuring 1 × 1.5 metres, with a resolution of 240 × 360 pixels and a brightness of 4000 nits. Their vertical format is ideal for displaying movie posters, promotional graphics, trailers and information, replacing traditional static posters with dynamic digital surfaces that can be updated quickly.

The solution integrates naturally into a cinema and entertainment environment, where strong visual impact and continuously updated communication contribute to the overall visitor experience.

Advantages of the installation

For a cinema, visual communication around entrances and public areas is essential for presenting current releases, attracting visitors’ attention and highlighting upcoming movies and events.

LED displays allow Cinepalace to move beyond the limitations of printed posters. Content can be changed quickly according to the current programme, movie schedules, premieres, special screenings or promotional initiatives.

The 1 × 1.5 metre vertical format is particularly suitable for traditional movie-poster layouts while adding the advantages of digital communication, including movement, animations and multiple rotating creatives.

The 4000-nit brightness also helps maintain strong visibility in brightly lit areas and spaces exposed to natural light, keeping promotional content clear and visually engaging.

The main benefits include:

  • fast programme updates without physically replacing posters;
  • greater visual impact through bright, dynamic imagery;
  • multiple pieces of content on the same display;
  • more flexible communication for movies, events and promotions;
  • a more engaging customer experience before visitors even enter the screening rooms.

LED modularity also makes it possible to create different display sizes according to the available space.

Product used

The installation follows the design philosophy of the Macropix Subtilis range, developed to combine performance, simple construction, flexible sizing and easy maintenance. The system uses a modular concept, allowing LED elements to be combined to create display dimensions tailored to each project.

This approach is particularly suitable for Cinepalace, where vertically oriented screens can be designed specifically to replace or complement traditional movie-poster spaces.

The brochure also describes the possibility of combining standard and customised modules to produce different screen formats.

Key advantages include:

  • modular construction for greater adaptability;
  • aluminium components designed for a lightweight and robust structure;
  • uniform image and colour reproduction, important for promotional graphics;
  • flexible screen dimensions;
  • easy integration into public and entertainment environments.

The product documentation specifically highlights the aluminium module construction and flexibility in screen sizing.

The result is a solution that transforms traditional cinema poster displays into a modern, dynamic and easily updated digital communication system.
