LED Banner for Fondazione Prada in Milan

A high-definition LED Wall seamlessly integrated into Fondazione Prada in Milan: a panoramic 1.9 mm pixel pitch solution designed to deliver sharp, dynamic and immediately readable information to visitors.

Installation details

For Fondazione Prada, Macropix developed an indoor LED installation designed to integrate discreetly and effectively within a space dedicated to culture and entertainment. The project features an LED display with a 1.9 mm pixel pitch, an overall resolution of 3460 × 256 pixels, and 800 NIT brightness.

The extremely wide-format display was installed above the reception desk, transforming an architectural surface into a dynamic digital communication tool. As shown in the installation, the screen is used to display exhibition names, directions and visitor information while maintaining a clean visual presence consistent with the architecture of Fondazione Prada. Thanks to the fine pixel pitch, text and graphic content remain sharp and clearly readable even when viewed from relatively short distances.

  • Location: Milan, Italy

  • Brightness: 800 Nit

Installation advantages

In an environment such as Fondazione Prada, visual communication needs to be immediate and effective while respecting the identity and aesthetics of the surrounding space. LED technology makes it possible to achieve this balance through a continuous, sharp and highly legible digital surface.

The 1.9 mm pixel pitch provides a high pixel density, making the screen particularly suitable for indoor environments where visitors may view the display from only a few metres away. Exhibition titles, directional information and graphic elements therefore remain precise and easy to read.

The ultra-wide resolution also takes full advantage of the panoramic shape of the installation. Information can be distributed across the entire display without using multiple separate monitors. Key advantages include:

  • dynamic communication, allowing content and visitor information to be updated quickly;
  • excellent readability, including smaller text and detailed information;
  • visual continuity, with no traditional monitor bezels interrupting the image;
  • architectural integration, particularly important in design-led cultural environments;
  • content flexibility, from simple information to graphics and multimedia material.

The 800 NIT brightness helps maintain clear visibility within an environment that combines both natural and artificial lighting.

Product used

The installation uses the Adastra solution, a Macropix indoor LED range designed for fixed installations where image quality, compact dimensions and visual integration are key requirements.

Adastra features a clean and compact design, with power and data connections integrated internally to minimise visible cabling and achieve a more refined installation.

Its slim construction is another important advantage. According to the brochure, the cabinet can have a depth of only 48 mm, helping reduce the overall footprint of the LED structure.

The system is modular and can be assembled in multiple configurations. This makes it possible to create screens with customised proportions, such as the exceptionally wide display developed for Fondazione Prada. Main characteristics include:

  • lightweight and slim structure;
  • internally managed cabling;
  • high module flatness for a more continuous image;
  • full front maintenance access;
  • modular construction for customised screen dimensions;
  • suitability for fixed indoor applications including museums and public environments.

Front access also makes servicing easier because key components can be reached without accessing the rear of the display, an important advantage for LED walls integrated into architectural structures.
